A Touch of Honesty

I am exhausted. Waiting on God can be one of the hardest things. I have walked. I have learned. I have leaned. I have rested. I have followed. I have fallen and gotten back up. I have sat in the rain and cried out for help. I have called for the presence of the one my heart loves. Now I wait.

Lead me Father. Lead me to the places that you have called me to. I hear you, yet I cannot see a path which I can take. I am trusting you completely because I have nothing else that I can do. I am weary from the journey and overwhelmed from the things which have come against me. Take me home.

My heart longs for home. My heart longs for you. I have often dreamed of seeing the palace in whose halls you tread. What place could be so magnificent that you would call it home, my Lord? I miss you. As you said, I am no more part of this world than you were. I belong home, and my heart longs for home.

Still, I will follow you where you lead. I will go where you ask, and when. I am waiting on your promises with little more than hope that you will not leave me here. My Lord, I am tired, and I long for your rest. Teach me. Teach me how to take shelter in this storm.

Overshadow me with love, and give me comfort in this time. Each step seems so uncertain but all I long for is to please you. Take me up in your arms, and show me what way I should go. Give me comfort, my Lord.

I love you, and my heart longs for you. If I could see your eyes, I know my heart would rejoice forever. If I could sit near you, I would sing praises. My Lord, take me up with you. Do not leave me here forever, I beg you. Anything and everything I would give up if only I could reach out to you. My Lord, to see you in your glory is my greatest wish. I long to see you enthroned on David’s throne. I long to see your angels and your armies walk upon the earth in plain sight. I miss you so. Give me hope, I pray. Keep me going. Step by step, bring me closer Lord. Step by step, bring me home. I love you.
