Desperate

I am one of those rare people that cannot do anything without God. Some of you might be thinking, “Oh yeah, we all need God.” You would be correct my friend, but I really can’t do anything without Him.

On my own I am unmotivated, bored, uninspired, depressed, selfish, and I can’t seem to succeed at anything. Everything I tried to do ended in failure before Him. People used to talk about me, and it would get back to me that everyone thought I was just one big mess-up. It was frustrating because I wanted to do so much. I was and still am a dreamer. But really, it only hurts to dream when all your dreams end in utter failure.

All around me have been people who seem to have this life thing down. They have no trouble with their bills, or their houses, or keeping up with their yard, or making sure that their family looks picture perfect. That’s really not me.

But in my time with God, He has shown me what is important, and what I should be focused on. As my relationship with Him has grown, so has my ability to complete and accomplish tasks.

So, if like me, you find it impossible to do what your heart desires, try seeking Him. He wants us to turn to Him. He knows that He can make things work better than if we always tried to do it on our own.

(Matthew 19:23) Jesus tells us that it is difficult for someone who is rich to enter heaven. But you can be rich in so many things. The point is people who have want they want or need don’t realize their need for God. They can go through life and only seek Him after they have made a mess of things on their own.

If you aren’t desperate right now, then pray and ask God to make you desperate. He will show you places where you need Him. Then He can teach you and help you to do all the great things that He has planned for you.

This song is a little old but it still cries from the heart of someone
who simply calls out for God's presence
