Lion of Judah

If you watch any amount of news, it can be concerning. Things seem to be out of control and frightening. We are living in a world of uncertainty. It would seem that the fabric of our world and our country is changing.

Lately, black has been called white and white is black. The grey is fading, and there is no longer room to live in ambiguity. The difficult questions are being asked. Tough choices are forced to be made. Where will we fall?

Our country strains and pulls at its own seams as everyone attempts to take a piece for themselves. We are floundering, and we will rise or fall as one.

Guys, I am being honest here, and I don’t mean to frighten anyone, but I do not believe there is a way to rise above this as a country, as the human race. Why? Well, because Jesus and the Bible speak of how the world will groan as a woman in labor. (1 Thessalonians 5:3)

I recently gave birth to my third child. Each time I have chosen to do a natural birth, and so I know very well how the pain of childbirth works. There are moments between contractions that seem to give us room to breathe. There seems to be a little hope that things are going to get better. But then the next contraction starts, and we are in pain again. Eventually, the contractions get closer and closer, and there is less and less time to rest. Finally, the time comes when the pain doesn’t stop. It just goes in waves, getting worse and worse.

To some this is a frightening perspective. I am sure that I will get backlash for speaking doom, but I am not afraid, and for those who follow Christ you shouldn’t be either! WE ARE ALIVE IN HIM!

As the world divides, we are called to unite. As the world frays at the edges, we’re called to offer comfort and stand firm. God is the one who called for a standard, and He also is the one that offers love, with open arms, for those who are in pain.

Who is in pain? All those without hope. Jesus is our hope. So let’s take it to those who are calling us names. Let’s take the hope of heaven to those who stand against us. Let us pray for those who call for our demise, because what can they do to us? God is for us!

I am not afraid that the world seems to be out of control, because I know that it is in God’s control, and that this all ends with the King of kings sitting on His throne and me getting the honored opportunity to praise Him out loud.

So to those who are told to be silent, rejoice! To those who are in chains by the world, know that you are free in Him! To those who are aching from attack, physical or otherwise, rest in the knowledge that He suffers with you and will reward you for every tear!

There is no end to His mercy and greatness. Like a lion protecting His pride, God will rise up and roar letting the enemy, and his children, know that the Father of the believers is on His way. As His children, we need to learn the difference between what is threatening to us and what is a threat to our enemy.
